Playground Legend in the Studio

What a session! Playground Legend (signed to Sony) obviously have the gift of writing some great tunes. I got to work on two new tracks for their forthcoming release. 'Lady 88' and 'Chasing Cars' are two prime examples of what these guys have to offer.

Their approach to recording is very professional I have to say! They come to the studio with a key vision in mind. Recording Ben's vocals was a pleasure. He has a good set of lungs on him, is precise at doubling and harmonising with himself (which is always helpful).

I ended up mixing 'Chasing Cars' which in my opinion is the stronger of the two track but only by a little and will hopefully be blasting out of Radio 1 anytime soon. The mix process for this allowed room for parallel compressing drums and viscious amounts of distortion from the LA2A compressor.... mmmm nice.

I think your gonna hear a lot of this band.
